The challenge of designing a space based of a topic of our choosing was not only exciting, but also difficult. Making the design so that no matter where you start or go, the story of the topic makes sense. For this project, my friend Haile and I decided to make the museum about Dracula. The overall idea was to showcase the different versions of Dracula throughout the years. Our story was to explain who Dracula is and how much of an impact he has had in cultures.
These images help showcase what the walkthrough would be like and how the display items are shown. The overall look is meant to represent the inside of a church with drapes to seem like an unveiling of information. The lighting is supposed to be dim with the display items and titles be lit up to show importance. The exhibit is meant to be mostly lit by the red-tinted window at the end of the room.
The Idea is to have more of an open layout so people can easily walk around and see the display items. Each piece represents a piece of Dracula's story. The castle, the coffin, the window, the weapons, are all significant to his story. The exhibit is not only teaching people about the story of Dracula and how he came to be, but it also helps people experience how it would be to be Dracula himself.
